Job Vacancies Decline 2019Q1
Singapore's Job vacancies fell from 62,300 last December to 57,100 in March this year.
Unemployment rates were at 2.2% overall while resident unemployment rates were at 3% at Q4 2018. However, while resident unemployment rate held steady, citizen unemployment rates increased from 3.1% in December 2018 to 3.2% in March 2019.
Retrenchment has increased from 2,510 to 3,230 in comparison to Q4 2018 and Q1 2019.
Re-entry rates has seen an increase from 64% to 66% from Q4 2018 to Q1 2019.
The MOM encourages workers to improve their skills through the SkillsFuture initiative to build career resilience and improve career mobility as the economy and firms restructure.
