Higher salary and promotion expected for Singaporean
2014 Global Salary Survey summary
Singaporeans can expect higher salaries and better promotional prospects in 2014, according to Robert Walters Singapore.
Robert Walters, one of the world's largest specialist professional recruitment consultancies, recently released its analysis of 2014 talents and salary trends based on the latest annual Global Salary Survey 2014.
Here are the key findings:
- People who switched jobs in 2013 managed to succeed in increasing their salaries at an average 15-20% with the trend likely to continue in 2014.
- The Singapore government will launch the Fair Consideration Framework this August, which will boost the hiring of Singaporeans with higher salaries, both for permanent and contract positions.
Firms will encounter increasing competition in the recruitment of top Singaporean talents.
"It is inevitable for employers to recognise the importance of developing existing employees with transferable skill sets trainings," says Mr. Toby Fowlston, Managing Director of Robert Walters Singapore.
He adds: "This will lead to higher chances of more promotions, both as monetary rewards and career progression for professionals."
2014 will bring satisfaction to them, he predicts.
